About Me

My Name is Christin Kingery and I am a LCSW in Kentucky.

Thank you for beginning this journey.  I'm so happy that you reached out for help. Therapy is an inviting place where every single part of you is welcome, even the parts that are uncomfortable to share. As a therapist, I am honored that you chose this process as your vehicle to healing. If this is your first time in therapy, welcome.  My guess is that getting started can be pretty scary — to talk to someone you do not know about things that make you uncomfortable, sad, angry, overjoyed, or embarrassed — but I would like to reassure you that this process is here to help you grow. There are certain elements necessary in therapy in order to maintain a space of positivity, growth, and healing. Yet, you are not responsible for maintaining those elements. That is the job of the therapist — my job. For those who have been to therapy before and are starting again, welcome back.

I received my bachelor’s degree in sociology from Morehead State University and my master’s degree in clinical social work from University of Louisville. I have been working in the field of mental health for several years and currently getting my doctorates in social work.  I use a variety of therapeutic approaches including but not limited to cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, task centered practice, narrative approach, and solution focused brief therapy. I understand that patients have unique needs and therapeutic support when they work to overcome life challenges.

During my free time, I am working towards finishing my Doctorate in Social Work.  I also enjoy travelling, staying active, camping, reading, and spending time with loved ones.
